New Zealand Literacy Association Award Presented to Chris Cole.

Congratulations to Chris Cole, our Learning Advisor who has been selected by the Southland Literacy Association as one of the recipients of the 2023 New Zealand Literacy Association (NZLA) Workshop Presenter Awards.

NZLA has a rich history and a strong connection to the pioneering work of Dame Marie Clay in promoting literacy practice. Annually, the NZLA receives funding from the Marie Clay Literacy Trust to support various aspects of their conferences, including registrations and travel expenses for both early career and experienced teachers. Additionally, funds are allocated for the recognition of outstanding workshop presenters through awards based on written and verbal feedback received.

At the 45th Annual conference, held in Invercargill in October, Chris presented a workshop to around 25 educators, entitled, ‘From Awareness to Action: Empowering Dyslexic Learners’.
