Supporting parents and caregivers of children with specific learning differences

We support parents and whānau with information and understanding about learning differences that include:

  • Dyslexia
  • Dyscalculia
  • Dyspraxia
  • Dysgraphia
  • Visual stress
  • Auditory Processing Disorder
  • Processing Speed

Supporting a young person with a learning difference can be a journey of highs and lows. Behind every child is someone advocating for them — a parent, caregiver, or educator. That has always been the heart of Dyslexia Support South.

Although the Trust overseeing Dyslexia Support South has now wound up, we want to continue supporting our dyslexic community through this website. We know our community will continue to grow understanding and awareness of dyslexia, strengthening the future for dyslexic people of all ages.

Growing Stars Parent Guidebook
Free to download, this guidebook brings together the core ideas and strategies from our Growing Stars workshop.

Dyslexia Video Series
Three free video series — for parents, educators, and adult dyslexics — offering clear explanations, strengths-based insights, and practical guidance.

You’ll also find information on learning differences, assessments, and learning stress throughout this site. We hope these resources continue to support you and the people you walk alongside.

This website will remain accessible. We’ll keep an eye on the content, but no further updates or new material will be added.
